I first became interested in Move for life when I found out they help to encourage young people to steer clear of knife and gun crime by promoting positive activities for them to do; such as dance, sports, drama and arts. I believe this is important as there is not enough awareness as to what is available to them. Move for life brings together various activities and information for young people from the ages of 12-25 so they don’t have to go far too look for things to do, as they are listed on the website and all in one place.
This issue is important to me and has impacted on my life in many ways. I grew up with these issues constantly happening around me, my friends and family. Tragically, a family member was stabbed at the age of 15, after trying to calm down an argument between two young people outside of his school. Although he had nothing to do with what was going on he was the person that got killed. This is happening now in London on a daily basis and not enough is being done to prevent it.
I feel passionately about this subject, and plan to do all that I can and contribute to try and prevent it from happening in the future. I give my support to Move For Life for addressing these issues and trying to help young people and I am looking forward to the upcoming projects and ideas.
